Container shipping from Asia to Europe has doubled in price

According to the international cargo booking platform “Freightos”, since January 2024, the cost of delivering one forty-foot container from Asia to Northern Europe has doubled and reached $4,000, while the delivery of the same container to the Mediterranean countries, where ships traditionally passed through the Red Sea and Suez Canal soared to $5,175, reports Reuters.

“Maersk” unveils the world's largest container ship powered by «green» methanol

The Danish corporation “AP Moller-Maersk” presented the world's largest 350-meter container ship, “Ane Maersk”, powered by «green» methanol. The cargo ship, built at the shipyard of the South Korean shipbuilding company “HD Hyundai Heavy Industries” in the city of Ulsan, can accommodate 16,592 containers, TASS reports.
