The Minister of Roads and Urban Development of the Islamic Republic of Iran Met with the Deputy Chairman of the Cabinet of Ministers of Turkmenistan

On October 7, 2026, a meeting was held in the "Avaza" National Tourist Zone between Batyr Annayev, Deputy Chairman of the Cabinet of Ministers of Turkmenistan for Transport and Communications, and Farzaneh Sadegh, Minister of Roads and Urban Development of the Islamic Republic of Iran. The meeting took place on the sidelines of events organized within the framework of Turkmenistan's chairmanship of the Commonwealth of Independent States (CIS) in 2026.

During the meeting, the parties thoroughly discussed the current state of friendly and brotherly relations between the two neighboring states, as well as prospects for the further development of multifaceted cooperation.

The negotiations focused primarily on strengthening strategic cooperation in the transport and logistics sector, and further expanding the transit potential of transport corridors of regional and international significance. Special emphasis was placed on the contribution of regional economic integration through the more efficient utilization of modern transport infrastructures of both countries and increasing the volume of cargo turnover.

Furthermore, an exchange of views took place on continuing mutually beneficial relations within international transport and transit initiatives. The parties emphasized the importance of improving multimodal transport and border-customs clearance procedures.

At the conclusion of the meeting, the parties reaffirmed their commitment to raising Turkmen-Iranian cooperation, based on mutual benefit, respect, and principles of good neighborliness, to new heights.
