TIF 2026: Key Memorandums Signed to Strengthen International Cooperation and Investment Growth

On the first day of the Turkmenistan Investment Forum (TIF 2026), a set of international documents covering strategic areas of cooperation was signed between the state agencies of Turkmenistan and leading foreign industrial and technology companies.

In the field of transport and communications, the Ministry of Communication of Turkmenistan signed a Memorandum of Understanding and Cooperation with "OnU H&C" Co., Ltd. (Republic of Korea), while the Ministry of Railway Transport signed a Memorandum of Understanding with "CSCEC International Construction Co., Ltd." (People's Republic of China).

With the aim of modernizing water management and maritime infrastructure, the State Committee for Water Management of Turkmenistan concluded a relevant Memorandum with the Dutch companies "Damen Workboats B.V." and "Liamol Trading GmbH". The document outlines joint projects for dredging water facilities as well as maintaining and upgrading the auxiliary vessel fleet.

In the chemical and oil & gas industries, the State Concern "Turkmenhimiya" signed a Memorandum on industry development with "Tianjin Bohua Engineering Co., Ltd." (China), and contracts with "Turkmen Enjam" Economic Society to ensure the uninterrupted operation of the "Tejenkarbamid" plant. Additionally, the State Concern "Turkmennebit" concluded a contract with the German company "Hybrid Innovation GmbH" for the design and construction of a new pallet manufacturing workshop at the Turkmenbashi Oil Refineries Complex (TNGZIT).

As one of the most significant steps in sectoral cooperation, a strategic Memorandum for 2026–2036 was signed between "Balkan Shipbuilding and Repair Yard" OJSC and the companies "Damen Technical Cooperation B.V." and "Liamol Trading GmbH". This document paves the way for a 10-year long-term partnership focused on shipbuilding, ship repair, maritime technologies, and the expansion of local production in Turkmenistan.

The agreements reached during TIF 2026 will provide a strong impetus toward diversifying Turkmenistan's national economy and actively attracting foreign investment
