On August 14, 2025, the resort town of Borovoe (Republic of Kazakhstan) hosted the 90th meeting of the Interstate Commission for Water Coordination (ICWC) with the participation of Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan, Turkmenistan and Uzbekistan.
The agenda included: water intake limits and reservoir operation regimes for the 2025 vegetation period; implementation of decisions adopted at the summits of the IFAS founding states; improvement of organizational structure and legal framework.
As a result of the meeting, the parties agreed to strengthen information exchange and coordination in water resources management.
The next, 91st meeting will be held in Turkmenistan in 2026.
