As part of the Third United Nations Conference on Landlocked Developing Countries (LLDC3), held in the “Avaza” National Tourist Zone, a bilateral meeting took place between the leadership of the State Service for Maritime and River Transport of Turkmenistan and the Deputy Minister of Shipping of the Republic of Cyprus, Ms. Marina Hadjimanoli.
During the meeting, the parties discussed prospects for cooperation in the fields of maritime transport and logistics. Ms. Hadjimanoli was introduced to Turkmenistan’s achievements in the development of maritime infrastructure, including a detailed presentation on the capabilities of the International Sea Port of Turkmenbashi. The Turkmen side provided comprehensive information on the port's technical equipment, logistics capacity, and available services.
The participants exchanged experiences on port management, digital integration, coordination of international freight transportation, and ensuring transport safety. They also discussed potential areas for future cooperation, including professional training and the implementation of joint programs.
Both sides expressed confidence that this meeting would serve as a catalyst for strengthening bilateral relations and launching new initiatives in the maritime and logistics sectors.
