The Transport and Logistics Center of Turkmenistan (TULM) has organized the dispatch of a trial container train from the Chinese city of Zhejiang to Azerbaijan, transiting through Kazakhstan and the Turkmenistan border railway crossing en route to the International Seaport of Baku.
As reported by TULM’s on Thursday, the Chinese test train—comprising 50 forty-foot containers—was shipped to Baku aboard a Turkmen national feeder vessel via the Port of Turkmenbashi.
As the operator of container rail transport in Turkmenistan, TULM continues to carry out large-scale cargo shipments of various types within international multimodal transport and transit corridors.
TULM was established by presidential decree on July 31, 2018. The company’s main objectives include developing the national transport and logistics system, increasing transit cargo volumes, and preparing efficient logistics solutions for the delivery of transit and export-import goods from sender to recipient.
