Turkmenistan's diplomatic missions abroad hold events dedicated to World Bicycle Day

Mass sports events dedicated to World Bicycle Day are held by Embassies, Permanent Missions to International Organizations and Consulates of Turkmenistan abroad. This international date, established at the initiative of Turkmenistan by the UN General Assembly and adopted on April 12, 2018, is widely celebrated in Turkmenistan and other countries. Thus, on May 31, 2025, in the city of Bishkek, the Embassy of Turkmenistan in the Kyrgyz Republic organized a bike ride dedicated to World Bicycle Day, established at the initiative of Turkmenistan by a resolution of the UN General Assembly.

The event was attended by representatives of state and public institutions, heads and employees of diplomatic missions accredited in the Kyrgyz Republic, as well as representatives of the media.

On the same day, in the Donauinsel Park in Vienna, the Embassy of Turkmenistan in Austria organized a similar event, in which citizens of Turkmenistan temporarily residing and studying in Austria took part.

On June 1, 2025, the Embassy of Turkmenistan in the Islamic Republic of Pakistan together with the Serena Hotel and with the support of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Pakistan organized a mass bike ride. This event also coincided with the International Children's Day and therefore special attention was paid to the young participants, who were given the opportunity to start first.

The bike ride started from D-Chowk square opposite the Pakistani Presidential Palace and ended at the Serena Hotel business complex.

On June 2, 2025, the bicycle race, which started from the Uram extreme park on the banks of the Kazanka River to the Kazan Kremlin, was attended by employees of the consulate of Turkmenistan and Turkmen students studying in the city of Kazan.

From May 27 to June 2, 2025, the Embassy of Turkmenistan in Georgia held a football tournament with the participation of football teams, as well as the clubs "Sportuni" of the Georgian Sports University and "Kartli" of the Vake Football Center.

On June 2, 2025, a bicycle ride was held in Bucharest, organized by the Embassy of Turkmenistan in Romania in honor of World Bicycle Day. The event was held with the support of the Municipality of Bucharest and the Green Revolution Association. It was attended by heads of diplomatic missions, representatives of embassies, representatives of the Romanian Foreign Ministry, Turkmen citizens and students.

During the events, it was noted that the establishment of World Bicycle Day has become a significant contribution of Turkmenistan to the promotion of universal values, symbolizing the desire for sustainable development, solidarity and unity.
