Oil Tanker "Dostluk", Gifted by Azerbaijan, Arrives at Turkmenbashi Port

The oil tanker "Dostluk", presented as a gift to Turkmenistan by the Republic of Azerbaijan during the state visit of President Serdar Berdimuhamedov, has arrived at the International Seaport of Turkmenbashi.

The arrival of the vessel turned into a true celebration, highlighted by performances from Turkmenistan's cultural and creative groups. Following ancient traditions of hospitality, the ship's crew was welcomed with national treats.

Aimed at strengthening Turkmenistan's merchant fleet, this vessel was built by the shipbuilders of the Baku Shipbuilding Yard. The tanker has a length of 141 meters, a width of 17 meters, and a carrying capacity (deadweight) of nearly 8,000 tons. Designed for the transportation of crude oil and various petroleum products across the Caspian Sea and beyond, the tanker fully complies with modern environmental standards and maritime safety requirements.

In the coming days, the new tanker will begin its first commercial voyages, contributing to the development of the region's transport and transit corridors.
