The 9th Meeting of the Intergovernmental Turkmen-Turkish Commission on Economic Cooperation Was Held

On June 5, 2026, the ninth meeting of the Intergovernmental Turkmen-Turkish Commission on Economic Cooperation was held at the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Turkmenistan. The meeting was attended by the heads of relevant ministries and departments of Turkmenistan, as well as a representative delegation led by Cevdet Yılmaz, Vice President of the Republic of Türkiye. During the meeting, it was noted that friendly and brotherly relations are consistently developing thanks to the efforts of the Heads of the two states, and the crucial role of this commission in intensifying bilateral cooperation was emphasized.

During the talks, concrete steps were identified to diversify cooperation in priority sectors for both countries, such as construction, energy, transport, food industry, and agriculture. In this regard, the sides touched upon strengthening the positions of Turkmen and Turkish commodity producers in each other's markets and increasing the diversity of supplied goods.

The transport-logistics and energy sectors were highlighted as key areas of bilateral relations. The parties exchanged views on developing a modern transport infrastructure connecting the Central Asian and European regions and ensuring efficient cargo transportation. It was particularly emphasized that partnership in these fields would not only strengthen the economies of the two countries but also open up broad opportunities for ensuring energy and transport security across the entire Eurasian region.

Following the outcomes of the ninth meeting of the Intergovernmental Turkmen-Turkish Commission on Economic Cooperation, a corresponding Protocol was signed. Furthermore, within the framework of the visit, bilateral meetings were held between the heads of ministries and sectoral departments of the two countries, where practical opportunities for developing promising cooperation were discussed in detail.
