On September 15, 2025, the eleventh meeting of the High-Level Working Group (HLWG) on the Caspian Sea began its work at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan.
The event was attended by delegations of Turkmenistan (headed by M.G. Atajanov), the Republic of Azerbaijan (headed by S.A. Sharifov), the Islamic Republic of Iran (headed by K.G. Abadi), the Republic of Kazakhstan (headed by Z.A. Amanzholova) and the Russian Federation (headed by N.N. Udovichenko). The meeting was chaired by the head of the Turkmen delegation M.G. Atajanov.
During the meeting, the parties discussed methods for establishing direct baselines in the Caspian Sea. Within the framework of the meeting, a review of cooperation in the Caspian Sea was also conducted and issues of preparation for the next meeting of foreign ministers were considered. In addition, the parties considered the issues of creating a working group of Caspian states on the shallowing of the Caspian Sea. The eleventh meeting of the Working Group on Caspian Sea issues continues its work.
