Austrian Delegation Visits the International Sea Port of Turkmenbashi

On August 7, within the framework of the Third United Nations Conference on Landlocked Developing Countries (LLDC3), a meeting was held between representatives of the State Secretariat for European and International Affairs of the Republic of Austria and the leadership of the International Sea Port of Turkmenbashi.

The purpose of the meeting was to present Turkmenistan’s transport and logistics potential, explore opportunities for cooperation, and exchange experience in port infrastructure management.

The Austrian delegation was provided with detailed information about the capabilities of the Turkmenbashi port, including its modern technical equipment, terminal facilities, container services, and multimodal cargo handling operations. The guests also visited the port site and familiarized themselves with its infrastructure and management systems firsthand.

During the discussions, the sides reviewed prospects for expanding international freight flows along Europe–Asia routes through Turkmenistan, enhancing the connectivity of transport corridors, and developing bilateral cooperation in the field of logistics and sustainable transport.

The parties emphasized the relevance of cooperation in areas such as digitalization, green energy, and resilient transport systems, and expressed mutual interest in building long-term and mutually beneficial partnerships.
