Turkmenistan and Monaco are planning to host a joint economic forum aimed at strengthening bilateral business relations, following a high-level meeting between the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Turkmenistan to the French Republic, Maksat Chariyev, and representatives of the Monaco Economic Board (MEB), held in Monaco on May 30, 2025.
According to the Embassy of Turkmenistan to the French Republic, the meeting was attended by Guillaume Rose, executive director of MEB; Justin Highman, deputy director; and Ilham Aygun, director of SSI Monaco and honorary member of the board.
Both sides expressed mutual interest in establishing direct contacts between relevant institutions and in organizing a future “Turkmenistan–Monaco Economic Forum” with the participation of business communities from both countries.
Discussions focused on the current state and prospects of bilateral economic cooperation, particularly in the areas of investment, trade, innovation, sustainable development, green technologies, and the digital economy.
The meeting took place in a constructive and businesslike atmosphere, marking an important step toward strengthening the economic partnership between Turkmenistan and the Principality of Monaco.
On the same day, Chariyev also presented his letters of credence to His Serene Highness Prince Albert II during an official ceremony at the Prince’s Palace. The presentation marked the formal beginning of his diplomatic mission in Monaco and reaffirmed Turkmenistan’s commitment to strengthening ties with the principality across political, economic, and humanitarian spheres.
